ideas - fruit of the Spirit

What do you think of this quote - "You can't kill an idea, you have to replace it."

The weapons of our warfare are: love, hope and grace.
How can we use these to replace the sin and selfishness we see in control of so many?
Are we committed to the Kingdom in every thought, action and word?

song of devotion

What would a life lived as a song of devotion to Jesus look like?

Do we really know the Savior -- and His voice?

Are we so in love with Jesus?

just wondering......

in Christ

Last night teaching a review of Romans 5-8, I was struck by the contrast of who we were before Christ lifted us out of the slave market of sin.  Obeying only the lusts of sin -- we were mastered by that which leads only to death -- and yet we felt so free and self-reliant.  What an awful lie!!  We couldn't see the dark condition of our souls --- but thanks be to God!  He looked at that which makes Him sick and has mercy on us -- how can that be?  Incredibly our Savior was willing to search us out, grab us up by the heart and carry us to freedom because of His great love!  May we completely surrender to such kindness and love ; )

off to Russia

Follow me to Russia on Twitter.

I leave Monday to go and join the work to orphans in Kursk, Russia : )

My Twitter username is cs4jc

why?

Romans 6:21
"Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed?
For the outcome of those things is death."

Why do I attribute benefit to things that harm me?

Why do I think that "one more" or "just this once" the things that make me ashamed will not bite back?

Sin hidden in the dark eats at me like cancer -- tearing at my mind and heart.
Throw it into the Light -- confess and agree with God -- turn from the awful thing -- and be healed!

Let us throw off the sin that so easily entangles us and live lives worthy of the high cost of Jesus!

The King is Worthy!!!

walking by faith

Do we really know what it means to walk by faith?
Faith - complete trust = surrendered life

Most of us want to live in faith that somehow always is about me.  Really??
How about the trust that we are vessels of honor in the Father's hand.

The cross was an ugly, painful way for our Savior to have to purchase our lives.
Remember the garden prayer of Jesus, "remove this cup from Me"?
In His flesh our Savior knew what was ahead - the horror and humiliation.
It's not that we don't know those feelings - doubts - desires.

The question is can we speak the full prayer of Jesus, "yet not My will, but Thine be done."?
Will we turn our lives over to the One Who deserves all honor and praise?

Help our unbelief Father!

dwell

I have spent three days this week, discussing Psalm 91,
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High".

Over and over again I have been reminded that our part in relationship to the Almighty
is only to dwell or abide in His care - close to our Lord - under His wings.

Can you say, "my refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust!"?

What thoughts, actions, doubts and fears need to be surrendered to the Lord?
